The Sea

A choral piece with a simple piano accompaniment

The words for The Sea were written by Sheila when she was around the age of 13 – they were originally a poem published in the Lenzie Academy School Magazine when she was in her first year there.

The music was written for SATB in 2008 with a particularly able school chamber choir in mind.  It offers plenty of challenges, both harmonically and in making wave-like sounds.

Others have said;  "This is a delightful piece with a highly memorable, haunting melody weaving between the voices."  Each part has its own important places, while a simple piano accompaniment provides harmonic support and a constant rhythm.

You will download a PDF file set up to be printed as a 12-page, A5-size booklet.  Both the pages and bars/measures are numbered to assist collation.  The pages will require printing or copying double-sided.  The file can of course be scaled up in the printing or copying if you prefer US Letter Size or A4.  (You'll work it out!)

This is a completely legal copy.  The following stipulations apply.  The cover page must be kept with each booklet.  The purchaser may print up to 40 copies as needed for any one choir. Should the originals become damaged or illegible, fresh ones may be printed and the originals destroyed. In essence, one copy per member of the choir, may exist at any time.
